Investment Statuses Explained

An overview of the different investment statuses on FrontFundr.

This article seeks to explain the different investment statuses you may see on your Investor Dashboard while completing investments on FrontFundr.

Pending Payment and Payment Processing

Both of these statuses reflect the outstanding offline payment for your investment. We encourage you to follow the instructions on the payment screen and to send all payment receipts to payments@frontfundr.com. Please allow our Accounting team 1-2 business days to update the status of your payment after you have sent it.

Please note that e-transfer payments from Québec investors may experience slightly longer delays as payments must be manually deposited by our team.

Once your payment has been received and your investment status has been updated by our team, you will receive an email with instructions on completing your investment.

Required Action: Complete your offline payment!

Pending Verification

Identity verification is an important step in the FrontFundr investment process. All FrontFundr verification practices are in place in order to comply with Canadian regulators and continue operating as an Exempt Market Dealer in Canada. More information can be found here.

Identity verification is processed by our third party partner Trulioo. If you have elected to not complete your verification while navigating through the investment process, you will always have the opportunity to do so using the functionality on your Investor Dashboard. Simply select the Identity Verification button next to your in-progress investment to complete the process.

Please note that some verifications require manual reviews, which may prompt the status of your verification to change to "Pending Manual Review." Our Dealing Representatives, registered with the Canadian Securities Administration, will review your submissions and contact you with next steps.

Pending Investor/Corporate/Additional Info

This status may appear if your profile is missing mandatory information needed to complete your investment. The FrontFundr support team will reach out to ensure all information is submitted properly. In the meantime, be sure to check that all information in your profile settings is accurate and has been submitted correctly.

Hint: Remember to click the "Save" button in order for your information to be submitted correctly!

Pending Suitability Call

This status may appear if your investment requires a manual review from one of our registered Dealing Representatives. The review may have been triggered due to a mismatch between your investment preferences and the opportunity you are investing in, or several other reasons. Additional information can be found here.

One of our Dealing Representatives will call you at the phone number listed on your FrontFundr account. If we cannot contact you by phone, our team will send you an email.

Required Action: Answer the phone call from our Dealing Representatives! Be sure to call us back if we leave you a voicemail.

Next Steps: The signing of your investment documents.

Documents Generating

Investment documents signed on the FrontFundr platform are legally binding documents between you and the Issuing Company, detailing the information surrounding your investment.

These documents must be created accurately and in compliance with the standards of Canadian securities regulators, in order for your investment to be completed successfully.

This status may appear if specific documents are needed for your investment, which our team will be drafting on your behalf. Please allow our team 1-3 business days to complete this process. Additionally, this status often appears for reservation investments in Coming Soon Campaigns.

Required Action: This status does not require any additional work from you, the ball is in our court!

Pending Documents

This is the final step to complete your investment on FrontFundr!

Reading, reviewing and signing the investment documents is required for Issuing Companies on FrontFundr to accept your investment. Investments with completed payments and unsigned documents will be canceled and refunded.

Document signing is done directly on the FrontFundr platform. You may access the documents for signing by using the automated email sent to you by our platform or by clicking on the "Sign Documents" button next to your investment in your Investor Dashboard. Please note that this button can be found on the right-side of your investment, meaning mobile phone users may have to either scroll to the right or switch their orientation to landscape mode, in order to see this button.

Any questions regarding information included in your investment documents can be answered by our registered Dealing Representatives at support@frontfundr.com.

Pending Investment Close

Congratulations! If your investment status is displayed as "Pending Investment Close" then you have successfully completed all the required steps for your investment.

Investments are officially accepted by Issuing Companies at the end of their financing campaigns on FrontFundr. The campaign end date can be found on any issuer's campaign page, as well as on your Investor Dashboard.

You will receive a trade confirmation document, which details the information regarding your investment, via email once your investment has been closed on. This document, as well as your signed investment documents, will be made available shortly after a campaign close, for you to download on your Investor Dashboard under the "Completed" tab.

Required Action: Absolutely nothing from you, congratulations on your investment!

Next Steps: All done! Please wait for the end of the campaign to receive your trade confirmation.
